60 minutes · Virtual, Phone or In‑Person
A one‑on‑one, trauma‑informed life coaching session for individuals who have recently uncovered sensitive or disruptive personal or ancestral information—through DNA results, genealogical research, or family disclosure—and need support processing what they’ve learned.
This session provides a grounded, compassionate space to slow down, regulate emotional overwhelm, and make sense of new information before deciding what comes next.
Best for clients navigating:
DNA surprises or unexpected family connections
Newly revealed family secrets or historical harm
Identity, belonging, or narrative disruption
Emotional overwhelm following genealogical discoveries
Questions about eligibility, readiness, or emotional alignment with lineage societies
As part of this session, support may also include gentle guidance around next steps for lineage society consideration—such as emotional readiness, documentation expectations, narrative framing, and whether pursuing membership feels supportive at this stage of your journey.
This session may be booked on its own or integrated into genealogy and ancestral coaching packages as a stabilizing, supportive pause point.
Length: 60 minutes
Format: Virtual (secure video) or in‑person by availability
Approach: Client‑led, consent‑forward, trauma‑informed
QUICK FAQ’s
Is this therapy?
No. This is a trauma‑informed life coaching and integration session, not mental health treatment. It supports emotional processing and meaning‑making around sensitive genealogical discoveries.
Do I need documents or proof before booking?
No. You do not need records, confirmed eligibility, or completed research. This session is about readiness, clarity, and integration—not verification.
Will I be expected to take next steps afterward?
No. There is no pressure to act, continue research, contact family, or pursue lineage societies. Any next steps are always your choice.
Lineage Society–Specific FAQs
Does this session include lineage society guidance?
Yes. Guidance may include discussing emotional readiness, identity alignment, documentation expectations, and what pursuing membership could involve—if and only if that feels supportive to you.
Do you have experience with lineage societies yourself?
Yes. I have personally applied to lineage societies and am familiar with the application processes, documentation standards, and common emotional and narrative challenges that arise along the way. I also bring extensive knowledge of colonial families of America and the historical contexts in which these lineages developed.
This lived experience allows me to speak realistically—without pressure—about what the process can feel like, not just what it requires.
Will you tell me if I qualify or submit applications during this session?
No. This session is not an eligibility review or application service. Formal proof, research, and submissions are handled separately through genealogical research offerings.

Wanting to be told what decision to make
Uninterested in reflective or emotional integration
If that applies, I’m happy to help you identify more appropriate services or resources.
